This rifle has been freshly Cerakoted in flat black color, for a weatherproof finish. ![]() (BGMY-122)Ī Winchester Model 1890 Takedown originally chambered in. It is also a good candidate for chamber deepening to. This reasonably-priced rifle should make a dandy shooter, and would look great if reblued or Cerakoted. The sights appear to be factory original and unaltered. The bore is gray and shows minor pitting, however it still has very distinct rifling. The walnut wood stock and forend are quite nice, with a medium walnut finish, showing little signs of having been refinished, and have just a few very small dings. The octagonal barrel is roughly 23″ overall and is marked “22 SHORT”. Most of the bluing has been cleaned or worn to a gray patina. I assume that the chamber has been deepened, but I haven’t had it checked. It is in very good overall condition for a 123+ year-old rifle! It appears to be unaltered except that the magazine tube loading slot is shaped for cartridges longer than. This rifle has a well-worn (possibly cleaned) patina.
